I have gotten a bit of grief from some of my family members for not updating this blog in almost a month. The fact is, things have been really busy here! Although we haven’t started packing for the new house yet, there have been many things to do to get ready for moving, such as figuring out mortgages, contacting our current apartment complex and notifying them of our move, and little things like buy boxes and reserve U-Haul trucks for the big moving day, June 24th! In addition, when they pulled up my credit history it came to my attention that someone who was living in Oklahoma and Illinois was using my social security number! He hasn’t opened any credit cards or bank accounts using the number, but his name was brought up just the same. I had to contact the Federal Credit Bureau, the Social Security Administration and notify the three credit reporting agencies to issue fraud alerts! It’s been a very sticky situation. My guess is that this guy used my number in order to gain employment, but there’s always a chance that it was just a total mistake and he accidentally got his number wrong. Once I get some info from the Social Security Admin. I’ll know if he used it for work-related purposes. The good thing is that it hasn’t affected my good credit score. The bad news is that this guy has the ability to cause a lot of damage, so this whole issue needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. I have lots of forms to fill out and papers to mail to prove my identity, but hopefully when it’s all done, things will get cleared up quickly!
In addition to all the moving stuff, things have been going a lot slower than normal as I’ve gone into my third trimester of pregnancy. I get tired a lot easier now, and I just don’t have much energy for things after doing basic housework and caring for little Patrick. It definitely takes a lot longer to get things done, and I have to pace myself because my natural tendency is to rush to get everything done in the morning. I am realizing that my body cannot handle so much running around, and I’m finding that if I don’t take frequent breaks I get major burnout and lots of pregnancy related aches and pains quite quickly!
Patrick is doing great. He seems to understand us better every day. Just last week we were planning to go over to my parents’ house for a barbeque, and we told Patrick a couple hours before we had to leave that he should probably take a nap. He went into his bedroom, found his favorite stuffed animal, and waited by his crib for us to put him in! Another new thing that he does is this: in the morning I give him a sippy cup full of soy milk in his crib and come back usually a half hour later to get him ready for the day. Before he lets me take him out of his crib, he looks all over to find his cup and hands it to me so I can take it away. He’s a funny little kid!
The next few weeks will be busy for us as we begin packing up our apartment in preparation for the move. Thankfully, my sister, Diane, just returned home from New York City last night, and she has promised to help me get things done. I cannot do any heavy lifting, so anyone who has the strength for it is very appreciated over here right now! There is so much to be done with buying new appliances (we need a fridge and washer/dryer for the new house), address changes to be made, all the packing to be done, cancelling all our utilities, and then getting the apartment cleaned out so we get our security deposit back. Then, when we get into the new house, depending on things I might want to give the carpets a good washing, clean out and line all the drawers and cabinets, and all that other fun stuff. It’s going to be a crazy month for the Flanagan family!
