Our Crazy Trip To Edmonton
This past weekend we went up to Edmonton, Alberta, to attend my friend, Margaret’s wedding. I’m not exactly sure how we managed to pull this trip off with two very active little boys… and I think many times along the way we quietly wondered why we were doing it, but things actually went pretty well. Here’s the highlights from our trip, with lots of pictures!!!
Sammy fussing. The first day was the worst and we couldn’t keep him happy for very long, but by the third day things got a lot better!
Andrew did all the driving, which was nice because a lot of it was winding mountain roads and I’m a nervous driver!
I spent the whole trip either in the front seat, or here in the middle seat, trying to keep the boys happy! Patrick sat in the back, so he wouldn’t bother Sammy. He enjoyed it!
There was so much beautiful scenery along the way
LOTS of beautiful scenery
View from our hotel window at the Fairmont MacDonald in Edmonton. This is the hotel where Margaret got married. I’m glad we stayed here… it was a beautiful hotel, and it was very convenient to make frequent trips up to our room to grab things for the boys during the reception!
Signing the registry. They got married in a beautiful little gazebo in the gardens of the hotel
Mr. and Mrs. Javier Lambrano! The ceremony was performed by Mr. Bryan Clarke, the RUF minister at the University of Alberta
Coming out from the ceremony
Patrick playing in the gardens
Andrew and Sammy enjoying the gardens
Andrew and the boys
The boys and I
The beautiful cake!
The beautiful bride and I!!!
The first dance
And we saw mountain goats and a moose along the road on the way home.
Almost 1,700 miles worth of driving over the course of three days, a car with two little boys, and a big pregnant belly. Was it worth it? DEFINITELY!!!
Congratulations, Margaret and Javier!!!
