Two Lefties?

April 18th, 2008

I am beginning to wonder if Patrick and Ethan are similar in more ways than just their looks. Since Patrick was quite little we knew that he was a lefty because he always preferred to use his left hand for things. Well, today I came to a startling discovery that every time I dangled a toy in front of Ethan’s face, he would reach for it with his LEFT hand. I’m pretty sure he always sucks his right thumb and holds it in with his left hand. I’m not sure if that would be any sort of indication of what hand he prefers, but I’d wonder if he holds it in with his left because it’s his dominant hand. Maybe I’m wrong on that. I’m beginning to think, though, that we might have TWO lefties in the house. Don’t they say it’s suppose to be hereditary to some extent? If so, Ethan and Patrick would be getting their left-handedness from Uncle James or Auntie Rachel. I’m sure they would be thrilled to know that ;o).

Mr. Handsome

Ethan has been such a little delight lately. He loves to smile, laugh and kick with glee when we play with him. He’s just now starting to get into a really cute baby phase, and we’ve all been enjoying him so much. Isn’t he such a handsome little man?

Peeee-zahhh!

April 9th, 2008

On the way home from my Good Wives and Mom’s group today I told the boys that we were going to have pizza for lunch. I told Sammy to say, “Pizza”, not expecting him to actually say it because he’s not really talking yet. However, to my complete amazement and delight, he responded by saying “PEEEE-ZAH!” It was the most adorable thing ever! So I asked him several more times and he kept on saying it. I think this is his first real word… he has said phrases like “All Done” and “What’s Dat?”, and he calls everyone, including me, Dada, but he’s never really said any words that didn’t have a “duh” sound in them. So it was pretty exciting and thrilling to hear that little guy actually using a word today. It figures that his first real word would involve food… my little chunk!!!

Too funny…
